Uwajimaya is a household name in the Pacific Northwest, known for its huge product selection and distinctly Asian aesthetic. While it would have made sense to pursue a more traditional visual language for this project, I thought it would be interesting to view Uwajimaya from a different lens, especially for a hypothetical branding project.

What if Uwajimaya embraced the quirkier, more eccentric side of Japan? Like the neon lights of Shibuya, or the candy-colored aesthetic of Harajuku?
